Field Work

Dr. Shepelev participated in a large number of interdisciplinary regional and monitoring programs, involving extensive field work in Khabarovsk Region (1963-1964), north-eastern Yakutia (1966-1969), western Yakutia (1973-1975), southern Yakutia (1975-1977), Magadan Province (1977), and central Yakutia (1977-1996).

Teaching and Supervision Activities

Dr. Shepelev was an Associate Professor (1978-1983), Head of Department (1983-1991) and Professor (1991-2006) in the Department of Geocryology at the Yakutsk State University (now the North-Eastern Federal University). From 2006 to present, he has served as a M.S. research advisor and an examination committee member in the NEFU Department of Exploration Geology. He also supervises Ph.D. students.
