Igarka site selected for the Spot5 (Take5) Experiment

The Igarka site of the MPI’s Igarka Geocryology Lab is in the final list of sites selected for the Spot5 (Take5) Experiment by ESA and CNES. From April to August 2015, the TOMCAR-Permafrost Project will be provided an access to the SPOT-5 images for the Igarka area. The Project collaborators, Laboratoire écologie fonctionnelle et environnement (ECOLAB), Centre d'Etudes Spatiales de la Biosphère (CESBIO), and Igarka Geocryology Lab, will use the images to estimate the dissolved carbon flux in the Yenisey River based on remotely sensed data and ground-truth observations.
