‘Geographical Investigations in Yakutia: the History, the Present and the Future’ Conference

The Yakutia Department of the Russian Geographical Society invites to attend a conference entitled ‘Geographical Investigations in Yakutia: the History, the Present and the Future’. The conference will be held in Yakutsk on August 25-28, 2013 hosted by the North-Eastern Federal University. The conference will mark the 100th anniversary since the foundation of the Yakutia Department of the Imperial Russian Geographical Society and welcomes contributions on the history of geographical investigations in north-eastern Russia, Arctic biodiversity and climate change, landscape and permafrost studies, mapping and GIS technologies, geographical education, and socio-economic development of north-eastern Russia.
