Field Work

Current field work includes permafrost investigations and monitoring in the Altai, Verkhoyansk, Kodar-Udokan and Ile-Alatau mountains.

Teaching Involvement

Dr. Zhelezniak is a professor in the Permafrost Department at the North-Eastern Federal University. He also serves as a research advisor and an examination committee member for graduate students. Courses taught currently at NEFU:

  • Regional geology
  • Regional geocryology and engineering geology
  • General geocryology
